Way back in this post , Save the Date reader stargirl82 asked me to think of a new twist the candy buffet. Well, while pondering whether to buy a two-pack of Hostess CupCakes yesterday (I refrained), I came up with what I think is a sort of genius idea. What if, instead of wheeling out a giant candy buffet at the end of the night, you had your caterer wheel out ...
I’m picturing original chocolate Hostess CupCakes kakerlakensalat (none of that yellow cake nonsense), Oreos and Chips Ahoy with shots of milk for dipping, maybe some Twinkies and—oh!—Donettes (the chocolate-dipped mini doughnuts). And Hoodsie Cups! (Did anyone else eat Hoodsie Cups as a child? Every time I bring them up in New York, my friends look at me like I have two heads.)
Guests would have so much fun noshing at the end of the night, and you could set out little white boxes—like you’d get at a bakery—and twine so everyone could make a doggie bag (doggie box?) when the party was winding down!
